CSWD offers a variety of free programs to help make waste reduction projects come to life at school. Students have a chance to participate in activities that focus on the benefits of reusing, recycling, composting, and other environmentally friendly habits. Our programs are tailored to any age group and include educational materials for students to share at home.
Facility tours including the Materials Recovery Facility and Intervale Compost Products
Theatre programs -- interactive presentations suitable for large groups
Videos are available on a two-week loan
Recycled paper-making kit is available on a two-week loan
Technical assistance utilizes an educational experience to help bring your school into compliance with mandatory recycling rules
Composting assistance includes free worm bins, outdoor bins, cafeteria compost set-up, and information
Environmental Club start-ups are easy! Meet with a CSWD specialist to figure out the best way to start a stewardship, recycling, or composting club at school
High School Environmental Club consultation is a great way for teens to share project ideas and learn how to take action at school and in the community.
Sustainability Scorecard looks at the sustainable practices and initiatives being undertaken by different school divisions including the classroom, the cafeteria, the administrative office, and the custodial department.
