Field trips provide an excellent hands-on learning opportunity. Chittenden Solid Waste District offers group tours of many of its facilities. The tours are designed for small groups (6-25). Each group must provide chaperones and transportation to and from the facility. There is no fee. To schedule a facility tour for your group, contact CSWD.

• Intervale Compost Products - commercial composting facility for food scraps, manure, and yard waste.
• Materials Recovery Facility - where large loads of recyclables are sorted, baled, and prepared for market.
• Environmental Depot - where unwanted paint, automotive fluids, and other chemicals are collected for safe disposal.
