| Recycling is mandatory for all residents, businesses,
and institutions in Chittenden Solid Waste District. Below are lists of mandatory recyclablesand items banned from landfills.
Mandatory Recyclables
- metal cans
- aluminum foil & pie plates
- glass bottles & jars
- plastics #1-7 including plastic bottles, dairy tubs and yogurt containers
- newspaper
- white & colored paper
- paperback books
- magazines & catalogs
- corrugated cardboard
- boxboard including 6- pack and 12-pack soda and beer carriers
- paper bags
- non-spiral phone books
