Electronics Recycling Program
An estimated 60 million computers will be deemed obsolete this year in the U.S. By recycling your old electronics, you'll help save landfill space and conserve resources, including non-renewable precious metals and petroleum products. Electronics recycling also keeps potentially hazardous materials out of landfills, and promotes jobs in the reuse, repair and recycling industry.

All CSWD Drop-Off Centers and the Environmental Depot participate in CSWD's electronics recycling program. Nominal fees apply.

WHY IS THERE A FEE?

  • Time and skilled labor are required to collect, transport, sort, and repair equipment.
  • The reuse value of the equipment may be less than the cost of handling and repairing.
  • Some parts (especially older monitors) have an associated cost for dismantling and recycling.

FOR LARGER LOADS OF ELECTRONICS: If you have more than one cubic yard of electronics, please call 872-8111 to schedule an appointment with our Electronics Drop-Off Center on Redmond Road. Appointments are usually scheduled on Thursday mornings. Fees for large loads will be based on weight: $0.18 per pound.

Any brand that is available at Best Buy Best Buy will takeback old appliances and tvs if they are delivering a new one to your home; they accept take printer cartridges and cell phones free in the store.
Costco
(located in Colchester)
All brands are accepted (for Costco customers only) Costco customers can recycle or trade-in old electronic gadgets such as laptops, cell phones, LCD monitors, digital cameras, MP3 players, and gaming systems. In return, consumers get a Costco cash card within ten days that can be used at any Costco warehouse or at Costco.com. All brands are accepted but the customers are responsible for shipping the material to the recycling location. TVs, printers, and faxes ARE NOT accepted.
Good Point Recycling
(located in Middlebury)
Goldstar, LG, Panasonic, RCA, Samsung, Sharp, Sony, Toshiba, and Zenith brands are accepted. TVs and other consumer electronics such as computers, printers, VCRs and DVDs are accepted for FREE at the Middlebury location.
Goodwill
(Williston & South Burlington)
All brands are accepted.Accepts computers and component electronics from residents only (no businesses). NO TVs ARE ACCEPTED. For more information about the program click here.
Radio Shack
(various locations)
Radio Shack has a trade-in program for small, used electronics items, any brand. Radio Shack accepts electronic items such as MP3 players, games and gaming systems, cell phones, GPS receivers, digital cameras, camcorders and more for trade-in, and will give you their appraised value on a Radio Shack gift card.
Salvation Army
(located in Burlington)
All brands of electronic media are accepted.Electronic media accepted includes floppy disks, CDs, video tapes, telephones and cellphones. They also accept computers less than five years old for reuse.
Staples
(various locations)
Dell brand computers, monitors and printers are free. Ten-dollar fee for other brands. Computer cpu's and monitors, laptops, fax machines, printers and all-in-ones are accepted. For details go to www.staples.com/ecoeasy.

Samsung electronics Twin State will accept all Samsung electronics for recycling at no charge!
