CSWD Creative ReUse Showcase

The CSWD Creative Reuse Showcase is an art competition for high school age students in Chittenden County. But this isn’t just any art competition! Here’s the twist: This art must be made from items that are typically perceived as being at the end of their useful life.

Organized by the Chittenden Solid Waste District, the Showcase aims to promote recycling and waste reduction throughout the Chittenden County community. Seeing art made from what most of us would consider junk can helps people realize that waste is a choice.

By entering, students compete for hundreds of dollars in cash and prizes from local sponsors, plus the chance to earn a spot in a month-long exhibit of the Showcase at Frog Hollow Vermont State Craft Gallery in Burlington!

The 2012 Showcase is now closed to new entries.

If you’ve already entered, please print this model release, get it signed by a parent or guardian, and bring it with your artwork to Adams Farm Market.

The release is optional, but if we don’t have one, your picture will not appear in any Showcase publicity or on this website.

Check out the Showcase Galleries page for images from past competitions. We’ll be adding more images soon!

Thank you to all of the 2012 CSWD Creative ReUse Showcase sponsors!
