The Environmental Depot offers year-round collection of a wide variety of
household hazardous waste. All residents of Chittenden
Solid Waste District may use the Depot. An appointment is not necessary. CSWD
businesses who qualify as Conditionally Exempt Generators (CEG's)
may also use the Depot. Businesses* interested in using the Depot must call to make an appointment.
The Environmental Depot also accepts electronic items such as computers, televisions, printers and DVDs for electronics recycling. To learn more about electronics recycling click here. Standard fees apply. The Environmental Depot does not accept trash, recycling, or other items such as scrap metal, appliances, or
tires. The
Depot also does not accept asbestos, explosives, radioactive material, or
medical/infectious waste.
The HazBin is one area of the Depot that is designated for products suitable for reuse.
The inventory changes daily depending on what is brought in by residents and businesses.
Usually, the HazBin is stocked with a variety of paint and painting supplies. Anyone is
welcome to take items from the HazBin at no charge.
You can also purchase Local Color, CSWD's 100% Recycled Latex Paint at the Environmental Depot.
