If food waste comprises a significant portion of the waste stream at your school or business, you
may want to consider collecting it separately from trash. Food waste can be composted on-site OR
transported to Intervale Compost Products. Contact CSWD at 872-8111 for assistance.
Additionally, there are three private haulers that collect food waste from schools, businesses and other institutions in Chittenden County:

Earthgirl Composting: 802-223-1271. Earthgirl provides commercial pick up for non-food related businesses as well as residential collection to certain neighborhoods in Chittenden County.
*The tipping fee at the Intervale Compost for commercial haulers is $35 per ton.
