Chittenden Solid Waste District owns and operates seven Drop-Off Centers (DOCs)
located throughout Chittenden County. All residents and businesses in Chittenden County may
use any of these DOCs.
All DOCs accept basic household trash, recyclables and food scraps. CSWD Drop-Off Centers also accept additional items, such as electronics, scrap metal, appliances, tires, textiles, and used motor oil. All DOCs (except Hinesburg) also offer ReUse Zones to help keep usable items out of the landfill.
Check out the complete list of fees and materials accepted
to learn what you can recycle, or dispose of, at all of our Drop-Off Center locations.
Please Note: Drop-Off Centers are a primarily Do-It-Yourself operation. In the event an item is too large to handle, Drop-Off Center operators are usually available to assist and a $5.00 handling fee will be charged. Customers may have to wait until the operator is not busy, and the operator does reserve the right to refuse assistance if they have concerns about handling a particular item.
Below is a list of each DOC, its location, and hours.
