CSWD Environmental Depot
Location: 1011 Airport Parkway, South Burlington.
Hours: The Depot is available for use by Chittenden County residents and businesses only.
- Residents: Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 8:00 am – 2:00 pm; Saturday 8:00 am – 3:30 pm
- Businesses: Tuesdays only, by appointment only

Materials Accepted: The Environmental Depot accepts a wide variety of household hazardous waste as well as electronics (computers, TVs, etc.). Please refer to our electronics page for information about Vermont’s e-waste disposal law.
Hardened hazardous waste is still considered dangerous and should not be discarded as regular household or business trash. Consult our A – Z list for information on specific items.
Fees: No charge for residents. Businesses must qualify as a Conditionally Exempt Generator to use the Depot, and must call our business line for an appointment. We accept cash and checks drawn on Vermont banks only; no credit or debit cards.
The Rover Mobile Unit
The Depot’s mobile hazardous waste collection unit is called The Rover. It visits each town once a year between July and October. It collects materials from Chittenden County households only. The Rover calendar is posted when the Rover is active.
Local Color Paint
At the Depot, we also reblend latex paint into Local Color, a premium-quality paint that meets Green Seal standards for environmental quality. You can take home 2 gallons for less than $20! Fifty colors in 10 shades to choose from. (We accept cash and checks drawn on Vermont banks only; no credit/debit cards.)
Leave Your Leftovers at the HazBin
This room at the Depot is where customers, with operator approval, may place leftover materials that are suitable for reuse. The inventory changes daily depending on what is brought in by residents and businesses. Everyone is welcome to take items from the HazBin at no charge.
NOTE: The Depot does not accept recyclable material, trash, nor some other hazardous materials. Please consult the A – Z list for proper disposal of:

- scrap metal
